Junkin and Birthday Gifts

I made this sign today for my moms birthday. It's from an old pallet I found on the side of a road. It's a replica of the sign used in the movie Wizard of Oz. I simply broke the pallet piece to the shape I needed and used white paint to hand paint the writing. My mom is a big Oz fan and appreciates hand made gifts. I spent $0 on the gift but put a lot of love and junkin into it!

My Goodwill Store Finds

Every once in awhile I find some good items to sell in my booth. I love the frame the most. It has a ton of detail and I will either make it into a mirror or a chalkboard. The birdcage is going into my garden and I will probably put an ivy plant in it. The metal drawer looks like it was once in a library and I will probably paint it and sell it as a accent decor item.

Went junkin and...

I had some extra time after running errands and checked out some alleys on my way home today. I found these 2 great pieces. The music stand is so heavy and in good shape. I'm not sure if I should just paint it or repurpose it. The chair defiantly needs some work but it's very sturdy. I think I got lucky today!

Cheap Legs!

I got lucky at Lowes today! I went to pick up some paint and I spotted some table/stool legs on clearance. I don't have a project for them now but I now I will!

Alleys are like shoppings aisles?

Yes, I do believe that when I go junkin through alleyways that it's like walking down an aisle of a store. If you have a creative mind and can see the beauty in others people's trash then junkin could be a great hobby for you. So today I had to run an errand and decided to drive down some alley ways on the way home. I was so happy to find an old weathered pallet which I plan to pull apart and make Halloween signs with. I also found some old thick wood which I'll make into coat hook plaques. Then I found this picket fence piece that I'm not sure what to with. I think I will go through some pintrest and see what's possible. I'm excited!

I love outdoor flea markets

It's so much fun to shop through other peoples junk! Check out all the great junk I bought at the Threshermans flea market!

Threshermans Flea Market

My sister-in-law and I did a flea market last weekend at Threshermans park in Boonville, IN. We mostly had yard sale items we wanted to get rid of but we brought some items from our booth to sale. If was a fun weekend, good food and good sales.

Repurposed Crib to Display Wall Hanging

I needed to find a easy and cheap way to hang some of my wall hangings at a local flea market. My youngest is now 3 and I had his old crib in the basement which gave me the idea to create this display. I simply took wall hanging hooks and wired them onto the metal frame. Super easy and it worked great during the sale.
